Botanical Name : Sambuccus nigra 

There is a wealth of folklore around the Elder tree and we have used both elderberries and elder flowers since antiquity for healing and medicine making. 

The elderberries are slightly bitter and dry and contain tannins, musicale, flavonoids and vitamins A, B, and C and their actions are antiviral, immune modulating, and anti-inflammatory.

It has even been used for colds and flu, sinus infections, hay fever, childhood infections, and topically for skin and eye issues, wounds, and burns.
