Cloves are the dried flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum evergreen tree that typically grows in tropical Asian countries. Its constituents are vitamin K and beta carotene, eugenol and potassium.

It has several benefits and has been used for nausea, flatulence, colds, and flus due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and for toothache due to its anodyne benefits. It can be made into an elderberry clove syrup for the cold season or mixed into baked goods.
