Botanical Name: Cinnamon cassia is a root that has been used since ancient times by the Egyptians for healing purposes.

Its constituents contains cinnamaldehyde, flavonoids, calcium oxalates, and sugars. It seems to have been used for various digestive disorders such as gas or boating due to its carminative effect, has been applied in colds and flu due to its expectorant effects and works well in females to bring on menstrual flow due to its emmenagogue properties.

It has hot warming energy and makes a delicious spice in baking and cooking. It is quite aromatic and a little goes a long way. It may stimulate the appetite.
