Botanical Name: Calendula officinalis
Native to Asia, Western Europe, Mediterranean and known in Europe as Marigold.
With its beautiful orange flowers, it can be used as an infusion tea, infused as oil and topically applied or eaten in a salad to add a dash of color. It possesses a multitude of medicinally active constituents such as various biological active constituents such as carotenoids, Flavonoids, saponins, sterols, phenolic acids, lipids, etc., and has a wide range of medicinal potential from anti-cancer activities, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and wound healing benefits as well as gynecological and hepatoprotective benefits.
