Botanical Name: Rubus fruiticosus.

The black berry has been enjoyed as a tart sweet berry but the leaves are not as known as they SHOULD be. The blackberry leaves have been used for medicinal and spiritual purposes such as warding off evil by certain Wiccan groups, but its constituents are impressive with Vitamin C, calcium, Vitamin K, Magnesium, Iron, tannins and antioxidant flavonoids such as kaempherol and Quercetin.

It has been used for digestive problems, as an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, as well as for women’s health. It has bitter and astringent qualities and may be beneficial to combine with other herbs like peppermint, rose or linden.
