Yarrow or Botanical Name: Achillea millefolium is a herbaceous plant that grows along streets and meadows as a common weed and the legend has it that its name comes from the Greek hero Achilles who used Yarrow to treat his wounds and the wounds of his soldiers, but later died from a wound to his ankle, the only part of his body that was  unprotected.

It contains camphor, minerals including copper, Iron, Iodine, magnesia, vitamins A, C, E, and K, flavonoids, and volatile oils. It acts verbally as antipyretic, astringent,  antiinflmmaotyr, wind healer, venous tonic, thins the blood and may be  emmenagogous.

It can be used topically for skin disorders, blisters, and wounds, to stop  bleeding, and orally for digestive disorders, the common cold, respiratory infections,  hypertension, and amenorrhea (due to stagnated blood). 

Cautions: Multiple: photosensitivity, avoidance in pregnancy, lactation, drug interactions with blood thinners, Lithium and barbiturates.
